Successful opening of maincubes Datacenter AMS01

On Thursday 20th September, data center operator maincubes, part of the German Zech Group, opened its new data center in Schiphol-Rijk. Amongst the more than 150 guests were also maincubes’ CEO Oliver Menzel and CTO Albrecht Kraas.

Joris te Lintelo, Director of maincubes the Netherlands, explained the history and strategy of maincubes and also gave some initial insights in the future plans for the Netherlands. The strategy of maincubes is focused on co-location in combination with the development of eco-systems in collaboration with customers and partners, following the example of the German method. An important project in this regard is the 'secureexchange platform', a digital marketplace for the secure exchange of data.

The technical upgrade and modernization of the AMS01 datacenter has been realized together with SPIE Nederland. The new AMS01datacenter has a white space area of 4,400 square meters with an available IT capacity of 4.7MW.

"Parties like to do business with a datacenter company that speaks the same language, is situated at an A--location - in our specific case at A-locations in the Netherlands and Germany -, is flexible and at the same time sets the highest requirements to all kinds of security," said CEO Menzel, who named the new Dutch branch "a wonderful data center alternative for customers in the Netherlands".
